Welcome to the 21st century

911,cell phones, communications, emergencies, text, servicesI am slowly creeping into the 21st century.  I now have a smart phone, sort of.  It is still in the box on my desk.  I am not going to open it until tomorrow when my daughter Kaitlyn can help me.  Pathetic I know.

  1. Not pathetic at all.... Sounds smart. Probably a lot smarter than the phone! And when she starts whizzing through the demo, stop her, and make her slow down. Ask the whys, and give yourself time to absorb the stuff.
My phone still just makes phone calls, so I'm *really* jealous! But watching people use these things amazes me. If I could get hold of one, I would definitely be buying lunch for one of the 20-something people at work, and hollering for help. Slow, patient help :)

  2. Thank you, Michele. I don't have a smart phone yet and I don't know when I'll get one. Unfortunately, I don't have children nearby to help. I'm having enough trouble figuring out even some of the basics of Windows 8. And I have a new tablet.... And, I understand that my current phone will text, but I don't even know how to do that. Congratulations to you for your leap.

  3. You make me smile, thanx. Carrying on the family genealogy is not the only the reason we have kids. Being our teachers in the present is another. For me it is my granddaughter who this weekend introduced me to the "the cloud". You will enjoy your smart phone.
